Washington, DC–The National Representative Council of Eritrea-Government In
Exile (NRCIE-GIE) retained Moran Global Strategies (MGS), the government
relations firm of former Congressman Jim Moran, who served as a member of
Congress representing Virginia from 1991 to 2015. This is historic and
groundbreaking, as it is the very first time an Eritrean government-in-exile has hired
a lobbying firm.
Former Congressman Jim Moran and Elias Gerasoulis, the firm’s
Vice Presidents, are registered to lobby on behalf of the NRCE-GIE.
This new lobbying partnership will help the NRCE-GIE secure access to the highest
levels of the United States Congress, the Executive Branch, and think tanks. The firm’s
headquarters at 101 Constitution Ave NW, Washington, DC 20001, is
next to the United States Congress.
According to the President of the NRCE-GIE, Mr. Ghebre Bahdurai: “Congressman
Moran is one of the most admired statesmen and lobbyists in Washington, DC,
having occupied key positions on the Appropriations Committee where he was a
senior member of the Defense and State Department Foreign Operations
Appropriations Subcommittee. Congressman Moran has been an influential voice in
U.S. foreign policy. His colleague, Elias Gerasoulis, is a personal friend to me
and the Eritrean people. Congressman Moran and Mr. Gerasoulis’s
lobbying for the NRCE-GIE will significantly elevate the NRCE-GIE’s
voice in the Nation’s capital.”
